New Comic Book Day – 14th February 2018

Hey look at that, it’s a second blog post in two days! Have I become a blogger? Is that what I do now?

New Comic Book Day

OK OK enough horsing around, let me show you the comic books that I (Ben) will be picking up for #NewComicBookDay…. the best day of the week!

 Kick-Ass #1

“KICK-ASS IS BACK-ready to wipe out the city’s criminal scum, destroy its gangs, and save its communities from decay. But there’s a new face beneath the old mask, a new figure wearing that famous green and yellow spandex. Who is this new vigilante superhero? Who can fill Dave Lizewski’s shoes? WHO IS THE NEW KICK-ASS? Find out in the first issue of this new, ongoing monthly series. Comic book legends MARK MILLAR and JOHN ROMITA, JR. reunite for the next chapter of the greatest superhero comic of all time.”

I’m intrigued by this so I’m going to pick up issue 1 and see what’s going on.

 Kill or be Killed #16

“Brubaker and Phillips’ bestselling series keeps ratcheting up the tension! Even the walls of a mental hospital can’t protect Dylan from his curse, and back on the streets of New York, the police still hunt the vigilante, but nothing is what it seems. And remember, each issue of KILL OR BE KILLED contains extra content and articles only available in the single issues.”

Kill or Be Killed goes from strength to strength and it’s the best comic book you’re currently not reading!

 Invincible #144

“SERIES FINALE ‘THE END OF ALL THINGS,’ Conclusion Final issue. Everything since issue one has been building to this. Nothing can prepare you.”

So we finally reach the end of Invincible. This is going to give me (and possibly Nate?) all the feels. Excited, nervous, sad, happy and probably a lot more! Be sure to check out The Invincible Podcast next episode that will be all about this…Nate and I may even be on there for a bit! We’ll also do a podcast about Invincible in the future.

Those are my picks, what are you getting?

Let me know what comics you’re picking up this week. I do a lot of forward planning by looking at – why not check it out? Also, thanks for taking the time to read this, hey maybe share it with a friend who likes comics?

Our new podcast should be going online tomorrow (Wednesday 14th February), our Black Panther review.

Anyway, you can find out information about our podcast on this page.

Thanks tuning in,
